Job summary

act digital is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on large-scale enterprise platforms. This hands-on role involves contributing to architectural decisions and leading by example while staying actively involved in software development.

Candidates must reside in Portugal, with full remote work from Portugal. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software engineering, strong Java, Spring, microservices, and cloud-native architectures,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong Java expertise with Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• Experience designing microservices and REST APIs.
• Experience with Kubernetes or Cloud Foundry.
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, particularly with Jenkins.
• Experience with distributed systems, resilience patterns, observability, and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Extreme Programming (XP) practices, including TDD, BDD, remote Pair Programming, and code reviews.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and Selenium/Protractor.
• Practical experience using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and refactoring.
• Knowledge of LLM integration and AI-powered application development is highly valued.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Strong engineering mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for technical leadership.
