KWAN is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python & Rust) to join a project where robotics meets cloud-native infrastructure at scale. This hybrid role is for Portugal-based candidates with two office days per week, offering a unique opportunity to shape backend services powering autonomous mobile robots.

You will design and own production-grade microservices, implement distributed systems patterns, ensure observability and security, and collaborate with Frontend, Robotics, DevOps, Product and

Qualificações

• 5+ years of backend experience delivering production software.
• Hands-on Rust and Python in large-scale codebases.
• Deep understanding of distributed, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Kubernetes, containers and cloud-native development experience.
• Quality-first mindset with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Portugal-based location required.

Responsabilidades

• Build and evolve backend services for a fleet management platform of Autonomous Mobile Robots.
• Architect and deliver production-grade microservices and event-driven systems.
• Code daily, debug production issues, and own features end-to-end.
• Turn complex distributed requirements into fault-tolerant APIs with observability.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
