Nitro Porto, Portugal is seeking a Senior Back End Software Engineer to design, build, and operate the shared services that power Nitro's engineering. You will work across Python, Go, Rust, and Java on AWS, from specification to deployment, observability, and production support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' professional backend software development experience.
• Hands-on in at least two of Python, Go, Rust, or Java.
• Experience with cloud-native services on AWS and container orchestration.
• Designing REST and/or gRPC APIs and SDKs.
• Strong DevOps, CI/CD, and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable shared services and internal APIs.
• Own services end-to-end from spec to deployment and production support.
• Collaborate across languages and teams to maximize speed and quality.
• Improve infrastructure, tooling, and CI/CD foundations.
• Drive reliability, security, and cost efficiency in AWS footprint.
• Develop and maintain automated tests.
