Jobgether is seeking a Backend Engineer - Extensions based in Portugal. You will build and scale Python-based backend services powering AI-driven capabilities across enterprise applications, collaborating with data scientists to deliver scalable workflows.

You will own reliability, performance, and architecture decisions, while maintaining code quality and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience with strong Python development.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems design, production-scale services, and backend architecture principles.
• Experience with concurrency models, task execution frameworks, and workflow orchestration patterns.
• Experience prioritizing observability, reproducibility, reliability, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
• Strong ownership mentality and ability to drive projects end-to-end.

Responsabilidades

• Own the end-to-end reliability, scalability, and performance of backend extension capabilities for enterprise deployments.
• Design, develop, and maintain distributed workflows that are efficient, observable, reproducible, and resilient in production environments.
• Partner with data scientists and cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into robust engineering solutions.
• Monitor, identify, and resolve system bottlenecks, improving latency and throughput.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and backend infrastructure evolution, ensuring integration with platform services.
• Develop clean, thoroughly tested Python code and promote best practices, plus maintain documentation.
