Job summary

iTRTech Group in Porto is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop and operate scalable services using Java, Spring Boot and microservices. You will combine hands-on development with architectural contribution, feature ownership and continuous delivery in an enterprise or cloud-native environment.

The role requires 5+ years of backend experience, fluent English, and a 2-days-per-week in-office hybrid arrangement in Porto.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend engineering with Java/Spring Boot microservices.
• Strong REST API design, security, versioning and performance focus.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and Kafka integrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes and Azure.

Responsibilities

• Develop resilient backend services with Java and Spring Boot.
• Own features from requirements to deployment and monitoring.
• Design high-performance REST APIs and event-driven integrations.
• Ensure security, stability and observability across systems.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Frontend Engineers and architects.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to engineering standards.
