Pleo is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Bank Infrastructure team to build and maintain payment rails and bank integrations. You will ensure accurate processing, settlement, and resilience for inbound and outbound transfers, while collaborating with compliance, finance, and product teams.

The role emphasizes high-reliability financial systems, operational excellence, and mentorship across engineers. Pleo supports hybrid and remote work, with a focus on AI-enabled delivery and growth.

Qualificações

• Hands-on experience building payment integrations and bank APIs.
• Experience with financial messaging formats (ISO 20022, SWIFT, SEPA) is a plus.
• Strong background in designing reliable, scalable distributed systems.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain bank integrations and payment rails across schemes (SEPA, Faster Payments, SWIFT).
• Own reliability, reconciliation, settlement, and exception handling for payment flows.
• Architect resilient systems against outages and edge cases in financial messaging.
• Improve observability and operational excellence across payment rails.
