Planet is seeking a Java Backend Engineer to join the team responsible for our e-commerce payment platform. You will develop, improve, and operate systems behind payment flows, including integrations with providers and server-to-server APIs.

This hands-on role involves building new features, maintaining the hosted payment page, and contributing to API development. Expect a hybrid work model with three days in the office and opportunities to participate in on-call rotations.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
• At least three years of professional experience with Java.
• Experience developing applications with a modern framework such as Spring.
• Experience with Git, Maven, and relational databases.
• Ability to design reusable, robust, and maintainable software components.
• Strong awareness of software quality and engineering best practices.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Good problem-solving skills and ownership.
• Interest in payment systems, integrations, and business-critical backend applications.

Responsabilidades

• Integrate new payment methods into our payment platform.
• Develop and integrate clients that communicate with payment providers and other third parties.
• Design and implement new platform features.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain our hosted payment page.
• Develop and maintain public and internal APIs.
• Write unit and integration tests.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of new software components.
• Improve our internal framework by refactoring, simplifying, and generalising the codebase.
• Review code and exchange feedback with other developers.
• Deploy new versions of our products.
• Take part in the team’s compensated second-level on-call rotation outside regular working hours.
