Job summary

Hexa Group in Porto seeks a Senior AWS Database Administrator to support mission-critical databases in a financial market infrastructure. The role is hybrid in Porto and focuses on operational support, optimization and ongoing improvement of AWS database services across international environments.

You will install, configure and maintain AWS databases (RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redshift), tune performance, analyze workloads and contribute to international projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator for mission-critical environments.
• Fluent English (B2 or higher) written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently with strong prioritization and meeting deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and pragmatic approach to operations.
• Effective communication with business and technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to share knowledge and collaborate with the team.
• Master’s degree in IT/Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Availability for a 10-hour shift coverage model, 5 days a week, and on-call rotation about one week per month.

• Support the full database layer across multiple services and platforms.
• Install, configure and maintain AWS database environments focusing on reliability and performance.
• Analyze and optimize database performance, queries and workloads.
• Participate in international projects and influence technology decisions.

• Assist in incident analysis, problem resolution and operational improvements.
• Share knowledge and contribute to a pragmatic, collaborative environment.
• Participate in shift coverage and on-call rotation as needed.
