Job summary

DBServices is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join an international technology environment in Porto, Portugal. This hybrid role requires hands-on AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL expertise and production support across multiple countries.

You will work with AWS database technologies, optimize performance, and contribute to current and future technology decisions while collaborating with global teams in English. Expect shift-based coverage and periodic on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Database Administrator in production environments.
• Strong hands-on with AWS RDS.
• Experience with Aurora PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Experience with Amazon Redshift.
• Knowledge of database installation and configuration.
• Performance tuning and query optimization.
• Workload management and on-call readiness.
• Upper-intermediate English (B2) or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end support for the database layer of mission-critical services.
• Install, configure and administer AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and MySQL environments.
• Support and administer Amazon Redshift environments.
• Monitor and improve database performance, availability and reliability.
• Perform tuning and query optimization to maximize efficiency.
• Manage and optimize database workloads and capacity.
• Troubleshoot incidents and production issues in multiple environments.
• Collaborate with international teams on projects and decisions.
• Participate in shift rotation and on-call schedule, with daily coverage expectations.
