We are looking for a Senior AWS Database Administrator to support mission-critical database environments within the financial market infrastructure sector. The role is based in a hybrid model in Porto and involves operational support, optimization and continuous improvement of AWS database services used in international technology environments.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- - Support the full database layer across multiple services, technologies and business-critical platforms.
- - Install, configure and maintain AWS database environments with a focus on reliability, performance and operational continuity.
- - Analyze and optimize database performance, queries and workloads to support stable and efficient service delivery.
- - Participate in international projects and contribute to current and future technology decisions.
- - Work closely with business and technical stakeholders, communicating clearly across different levels of the organization.
- - Support incident analysis, problem resolution and continuous improvement of database operations.
- - Share knowledge and experience with the team, contributing to a collaborative and pragmatic working environment.
- - Participate in shift coverage and on-call rotation according to operational needs.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- - At least 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator supporting mission-critical environments.
- - Professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken, at B2 level or above.
- - Experience working independently with minimum supervision, managing priorities and deadlines responsibly.
- - Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to operational challenges.
- - Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
- - Good team collaboration skills, with willingness to share knowledge and support others.
- - Motivation to grow within the role and contribute to continuous service improvement.
- - Master’s degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- - Availability to work in a 10-hour shift coverage model, 5 days per week, and to participate in on-call rotation approximately one week per month.
