DBServices Portugal is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) with strong AWS RDS experience for a hybrid Porto role. You will manage AWS-based database environments, perform tuning, and support Redshift in a globally distributed team.

You will work 3 days a week from the office in Porto, engaging with international stakeholders and contributing to scalable, reliable data services in English.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator, preferably supporting mission-critical or production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS RDS.
• Experience with Aurora PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Experience with Amazon Redshift.
• Solid knowledge of database installation and configuration.
• Strong experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience with workload management.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in international and multidisciplinary teams.
• Availability to work within a shift-based schedule, with the team providing 10 hours of daily coverage, 5 days a week.
• Availability to participate in an on-call rotation, approximately one week per month.
• Upper-intermediate English (B2) or higher, both written and spoken.

Responsabilidades

• Provide end-to-end support for the database layer of multiple mission-critical services.
• Install, configure and administer database environments based on AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Support and administer Amazon Redshift environments.
• Monitor and improve database performance, availability and reliability.
• Perform performance tuning and query optimization.
• Manage and optimize database workloads.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and performance issues in production environments.
• Participate in international projects, collaborating with teams across countries.
• Contribute to discussions and decisions on current and future database technologies.
• Share knowledge and technical experience with team members.
• Participate in shift rotation and on-call schedule.
