Job summary

Axians Portugal is seeking a Senior Application Production Support professional to ensure stability, availability, and performance of critical business applications in production. You will lead incident resolution, deployments, and observability initiatives, collaborating with engineering and business teams to deliver reliable IT services and continuous improvement.

The role demands 6+ years in IT operations, strong ITIL background, and fluent Portuguese with advanced English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain business-critical applications, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Participate in incident and problem management activities, including root cause analysis and implementation of long-term solutions.
• Execute deployments, change requests, upgrades, and patches following ITIL and DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and support teams to troubleshoot issues and improve application reliability.
• Implement, optimize, and promote observability and monitoring practices across production environments.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Support infrastructure and application-related projects, including new platform implementations and production releases.
• Contribute to service quality monitoring through performance analysis, capacity management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support critical applications and ensure operational continuity.
• Share knowledge and best practices with internal teams to improve operational efficiency.

SENIOR APPLICATION SUPPORT

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced Application Production Support professional to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of critical business applications in a production environment. You will play a key role in incident resolution, platform monitoring, deployments, and continuous service improvement, collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality IT services and reliable application support.

What You Will Do On a Daily Basis

• Monitor and maintain business-critical applications, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Participate in incident and problem management activities, including root cause analysis and implementation of long-term solutions.
• Execute deployments, change requests, upgrades, and patches following ITIL and DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and support teams to troubleshoot issues and improve application reliability.

Your Key Skills

• Strong expertise in Application Production Support and IT Operations.
• Solid experience with Java Application Servers (RedHat JBoss EAP) and Java performance analysis.
• Experience working with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Cloud-based environments.
• Knowledge of API Gateway technologies such as Axway or Apigee.
• Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL).
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, and ELK.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and processes, including GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and Nexus.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience working with relational databases including SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in complex production environments.

Your Main Qualifications

• More than 6 years of experience in IT Operations, Application Support, or Production Support environments.
• Experience coordinating technical activities and contributing to infrastructure and application projects.
• Strong understanding of ITIL principles, incident management, problem management, and service governance.
• Ability to document technical environments, operating procedures, and support processes.
• Proven experience working in cross-functional and agile environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of autonomy, accountability, and ownership.
• Resilience, adaptability, and ability to perform under pressure.
• Fluent Portuguese communication skills.
• Advanced level of English (written and spoken).
