Job summary

Axians Portugal is seeking a Systems Administrator to ensure continuous, secure, and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will support DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cross‑functional teams while maintaining high availability and security.

The role requires strong Linux/Windows skills, experience with VMware/Hyper‑V, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of Linux and Windows Server administration.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V) and/or container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalls.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation using Shell, Python, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with information security best practices.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Availability to work in a hybrid model, splitting time between the Alcanena and Lisbon offices, with one remote working day per week.

• Diagnose and resolve technical incidents and problems while ensuring agreed service levels are met.
• Automate operational processes and recurring tasks to improve efficiency and reduce risks.
• Collaborate in the design and implementation of scalable and resilient technology architectures.
• Work closely with development teams to support DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Document operational procedures, configurations, and best practices.
• Manage updates, patches, and lifecycle activities for systems and platforms, while supporting audits and compliance requirements.
