Nimber is hiring a Senior AI Platform Engineer to build and scale an AI-powered engineering platform that transforms how software is developed and delivered. You will design AI-powered workflows, deploy AI agents, and Own end-to-end delivery across the SDLC.

Formación

• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven hands-on experience deploying AI agents in production.
• Strong knowledge of AI agent orchestration, MCP and evaluation frameworks.
• Background in Platform Engineering, DevOps and CI/CD.
• Excellent English (C1+).

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop and implement AI-powered development workflows to improve efficiency across the SDLC.
• Build and deploy AI agents, including orchestration mechanisms, tool integrations and MCP servers.
• Develop context engineering strategies, evaluation frameworks and guardrails to ensure reliable AI-generated outputs.
• Design and optimise CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation and developer tooling.
• Integrate AI-driven workflows with Jira, Git repositories and CI/CD systems.
• Build and enhance internal developer platforms, CLIs or workflow engines.
• Improve engineering productivity, software quality and the overall developer experience.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities for practical implementation.
• Take ownership of complex technical challenges, from solution design through to production deployment.

At Nimber, we're looking for a Senior AI Platform Engineer to build and scale an AI-powered engineering platform that transforms how software is developed and delivered.

You'll combine AI engineering, platform development and automation to create intelligent workflows, deploy production-ready AI agents and improve developer productivity.

We're looking for someone who builds, delivers and takes ownership — with proven experience deploying AI agents in production, strong technical judgement and the autonomy to turn complex challenges into scalable solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop and implement AI-powered development workflows to improve efficiency across the SDLC.
• Build and deploy AI agents, including orchestration mechanisms, tool integrations and MCP servers.
• Develop context engineering strategies, evaluation frameworks and guardrails to ensure reliable AI-generated outputs.
• Design and optimise CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation and developer tooling.
• Integrate AI-driven workflows with enterprise platforms such as Jira, Git repositories and CI/CD systems.
• Build and enhance internal developer platforms, command-line tools and workflow automation solutions.
• Improve engineering productivity, software quality and the overall developer experience.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities for practical implementation.
• Take ownership of complex technical challenges, from solution design through to production deployment.

What We're Looking For

• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including senior or technical leadership responsibilities.
• Proven hands-on experience developing and deploying AI agents in production environments, beyond proofs of concept.
• Strong knowledge of AI agent orchestration, Model Context Protocol (MCP) and evaluation frameworks.
• Solid background in Platform Engineering, DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform.
• Experience developing internal developer platforms, CLIs or workflow engines.
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle and developer productivity practices.
• Practical experience using agentic coding tools in everyday software development.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical alternatives and make informed decisions.
• A high level of autonomy, ownership and initiative, with the ability to deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
• English proficiency at C1 level or above.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Cursor, Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools.
• Programming knowledge of Kotlin, Go or Rust.
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs, static analysis and code intelligence tools.
• Experience with BDD, Cucumber or contract testing.
• Knowledge of mobile test automation frameworks, such as Maestro.
• Previous experience implementing engineering automation and productivity improvements at scale.

Additional Information

• Location: Lisbon, Braga or Coimbra, with one day per week on-site.
