PagerDuty, Inc. is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to design and ship AI systems at scale, powering incident management AI agents, event intelligence, and LLM-powered capabilities across the platform. You will own the lifecycle from framing problems to reliable production serving.

The role emphasizes modern AI, LLMs, agents, and retrieval within resilient, high-throughput distributed systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed AI into services.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with production distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping AI systems in production (LLMs, agents, retrieval).
• Strong programming fundamentals across systems and AI code.
• Solid grounding in applied AI: prompting, retrieval, agent patterns, guardrails.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and Kubernetes.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build AI-powered features (LLM agents, retrieval, event intelligence).
• Architect agent orchestration, retrieval pipelines, tool integrations, and low-latency inference at scale.
• Ensure consistency, throughput, fault tolerance, and cost across services.
• Take AI features from prototype to production with evaluation, guardrails, observability, and improvement loops.
• Collaborate with platform, product, and research teams to define success criteria for AI features.
