PagerDuty seeks an early‑career AI/ML Engineer to work at the intersection of large‑scale distributed systems and machine learning. You will help build and ship AI systems powering incident management AI agents, event intelligence, and LLM‑powered capabilities across PagerDuty’s platform.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, learn to optimize latency, throughput, and reliability, and grow into an engineer strong in both AI and systems engineering. This is a hybrid role with Lisbon offices.

Qualificações

• 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• Degree in CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid programming fundamentals and ability to move between application and AI/model code.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI—LLMs, prompting, retrieval, or agent frameworks.
• Exposure to distributed systems and understanding of scalable software.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to AI-powered features—LLM agents, retrieval, and event intelligence for real-time data.
• Build and maintain systems behind AI features—prompt/agent orchestration, retrieval pipelines, integrations, inference services.
