Siemens Energy in Lisbon, Portugal seeks a senior professional to lead SCADA technical leadership and technical project management for offshore wind projects. You will guide engineering design and oversee full project lifecycles, mentoring staff and defining standards.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience in SCADA/I&C systems engineering and technical project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in the energy sector, ideally in offshore wind or substation automation projects.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead the technical design, specification, and implementation of SCADA and control systems for energy projects, offshore wind domain.
  • Provide expert-level technical guidance and third-level support for troubleshooting complex issues in SCADA systems.
  • Define and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and technical documentation for SCADA solutions.
  • Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance on engineering deliverables from team members and vendors.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders, with regular status reports.
  • Manage the lifecycle of technical SCADA projects: scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, budgets.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets, ensuring timelines and targets.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks including technical, schedule, and budget risks.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers; drive continuous improvement of PM and engineering processes.

Snapshot of Your Day

In this role will be responsible for creating to replace a key resource, ensuring business continuity and supporting critical growth in the Offshore Wind sector for the Network, SCADA & Cyber team. This is a senior professional position responsible for both technical leadership and project execution. To address these objectives, the role is structured around two primary pillars: SCADA Technical Leadership and Technical Project Management. This involves leading the engineering design and implementation of SCADA systems while simultaneously managing the full lifecycle of associated projects, from scoping and planning through to delivery and closure. Given the focus on technical execution and project oversight, the ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of SCADA and control systems, coupled with proven project management experience in the energy sector. This individual will be expected to work independently on complex technical challenges and mentor other professionals, consistent with a senior-level role.

How You’ll Make An Impact

40% SCADA Technical Leadership & Engineering

  • Lead the technical design, specification, and implementation of SCADA and control systems for energy projects, particularly in the offshore wind domain.
  • Provide expert-level technical guidance and third-level support for troubleshooting complex issues in operational SCADA systems.
  • Define and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and technical documentation for SCADA solutions.
  • Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance on engineering deliverables from team members and vendors.

40% Technical Project Management

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders, providing regular status reports and managing expectations.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of technical SCADA projects, including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets, ensuring adherence to timelines and financial targets.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including technical, schedule, and budget risks.

20% Team Mentorship & Process Improvement

  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, reviewing their work and fostering their professional development.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of project management and engineering processes within the Network, SCADA & Cyber team.
  • Contribute to procurement activities, including the technical evaluation of vendor proposals and solutions.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
