What you would do as our Sales Specialist
As our Sales Specialist, you will play a key role in expanding SKIDATA's presence across Portugal. You will be responsible for acquiring new customers, developing business opportunities and strengthening relationships with existing clients.
This is a consultative technical sales role where you will analyze customer requirements, design tailored solutions and guide customers through the entire commercial process, from opportunity identification to successful project delivery. Working closely with the Branch Director and Sales Team, you will contribute to the growth of SKIDATA's market share in Portugal and help position SKIDATA as the preferred partner for premium parking and access solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities through proactive customer acquisition and regular visits to prospects and existing customers across Portugal.
- Analyze customer requirements, design tailored technical solutions, prepare commercial proposals, and deliver compelling product demonstrations.
- Build long‑term customer relationships, drive negotiations and successfully close new business opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis, identify cross‑selling opportunities and support the execution of sales and marketing initiatives.
- Achieve agreed sales targets and provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management and regular reporting to support business growth.
The skills and experience you need
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including several years in a B2B sales role.
- Experience selling technical solutions and ability to independently manage the full sales cycle, from customer needs analysis and solution design to proposal development and contract negotiation.
- Strong technical understanding, preferably gained within engineering, electrical, automation, mobility or technology‑related industries.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, capable of establishing credibility with customers at all levels of an organization.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken; Spanish language skills are considered an advantage.
Nice to have
- Experience within the parking, mobility, access control, automation or security industry.
- Experience with maintenance agreements, service contracts and recurring revenue models.
- Knowledge of the Portuguese market and competitive landscape.
- Educational background in Electrical Engineering, Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
