ITDS in Porto-based setup offers a fully remote opportunity for a Senior AI Engineer to lead the architecture and end-to-end delivery of production-grade AI systems built on large language models. You will own design decisions, performance optimization, and safety in decision-critical contexts.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and evaluate build-vs-buy strategies while ensuring observability and robust caching in AI pipelines. Fluent English required.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of software engineering experience including 2+ years with production Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Deep expertise in LLM application architecture (RAG, multi-agent orchestration, model routing).
• Proven track record deploying scalable AI systems focused on latency, reliability, and cost.

Responsabilidades

• Design scalable AI systems prioritizing latency, cost and reliability.
• Develop language model architectures including RAG, tool-calling, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Build evaluation frameworks to measure quality and detect regressions in production.
• Integrate AI/ML models into core business logic with safety and compliance in mind.
• Mitigate hallucinations and design safe AI solutions for regulated environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review designs and mentor engineers.
• Evaluate build-vs-buy options among AI providers and tools to optimize performance and cost.
• Ensure observability, guardrails, and caching for AI decisioning pipelines.
