Job summary

Empoorio is seeking an engineer to advance EmpooScan capabilities and deliver production-quality identity infrastructure in a remote-friendly, international team in Lisbon. You will build SDKs, APIs, and tooling for issuers, holders, and verifiers, while shipping features with tests, observability, and clear upgrade paths.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in software engineering, security, or distributed systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
2+ years of professional experience in software engineering, security, or distributed systems.
Ability to work autonomously in a remote-first, async collaboration environment.
Fluency in English for documentation, reviews, and partner communication.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain SDKs, APIs, and developer tooling for issuers, holders, and verifiers.
Ship production features with observability, integration tests, and clear upgrade paths.
Partner with ecosystem teams on credential schemas and end-to-end integration flows.
Improve developer experience — samples, CLI workflows, and CI-friendly test harnesses.
Participate in on-call rotation for public identity services where applicable.
