Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Backend QA Engineer to own quality across a high-traffic, backend-focused platform. You will combine manual testing with automation to validate APIs, data, and event-driven services, working fully remotely with a global team.

You will design test cases, perform end-to-end tests, and contribute to automated regression in Go, while collaborating with engineers to strengthen testing coverage and release quality.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional manual testing experience.
• Backend services, APIs, and distributed systems focus.
• Proficient in writing intermediate SQL queries.
• Hands-on API testing with Postman; test management tools like TestRail/Zephyr.
• Read Go code and write/extend tests in Go; other languages ok if learning Go.
• Familiar with Docker and running services locally.
• Agile/Scrum, STLC knowledge.
• Experience with microservices is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive test cases from requirements.
• End-to-end testing of transaction lifecycles.
• Explore edge cases and identify risks beyond specs.
• Validate data with SQL against PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Test REST and gRPC APIs with Postman/grpcurl.
• Verify event-driven workflows with Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS.
• Extend automated regression tests in Go.
• Log and track defects in Jira with steps and context.
• Execute regression tests post-deployments.
• Improve QA processes and automation coverage.
