Job summary

Action1 is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to join Operations and reshape how business teams work through AI-powered tools. You’ll collaborate with Support, Finance, Sales Ops, HR, IT, and Legal to turn repetitive tasks into reliable automations.

You will investigate workflows, propose improvements, own technical decisions, and deliver iteratively to improve outcomes. We value initiative and rapid, impact-driven results.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in operations engineering, business systems, automation, or similar roles; 1+ years building production LLM/AI-enabled workflows
• Hands-on with workflow automation platforms, REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, and OAuth
• Strong prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, and agent/tool-use patterns
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript; comfortable with cloud services; AWS preferred
• Experience with at least one major business system (NetSuite, Salesforce, or ServiceNow)

Responsibilities

• Understand workflows and bottlenecks; propose changes with COO alignment
• Build AI tools and automations connecting business systems; deliver and iterate
• Prioritize opportunities by time saved, error reduction, and cost; ensure usage
• Run and support production work; test AI outputs and maintain reliability
• Protect data through access controls and redaction; coordinate with IT/Security
• Evaluate AI tools and vendors; decide on off-the-shelf vs in-house solutions
• Document workflows and train teams to use new automations
