Job summary

Aubay Portugal is actively seeking an experienced SRE/DevOps engineer to deploy and operate Python/FastAPI services, manage CI/CD pipelines, and implement robust monitoring across development and production environments.

You will automate deployments, define SLIs/SLOs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance in a hybrid work setup in Lisbon. English proficiency is essential for this international role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of at least 5 years in application operations, production engineering, or SRE/DevOps roles, especially in large or regulated organisations.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating Python/FastAPI services, API/model gateways, or managed cloud services, with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
• Demonstrated proficiency in automating operations through scripting (Bash, Python), configuration management (Ansible), CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD), and containerised workloads (Docker, Kubernetes) on Linux.
• Practical experience applying SRE practices, including defining SLIs/SLOs, managing error budgets, conducting blameless postmortems, and toil reduction.
• Solid experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
• Excellent command of English (B2 level or equivalent) for this international environment.

What will you do?

• Deploy, configure, and maintain business-critical AI services (Python/FastAPI, RAG pipelines, LiteLLM) across development, simulation, pre-production, and production environments.
• Define and implement robust monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding for API availability, latency, pipeline failures, and storage health using tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.
• Drive reliability engineering by defining and tracking SLIs/SLOs, participating in on-call rotations, and conducting blameless post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Automate deployment, configuration, and release management through CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD) and scripting (Bash, Python) to reduce operational toil and modernise the delivery chain.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with AI Development, Cloud, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure the stability, performance, and availability of production services.
