Edra Retreats is seeking a motivated hospitality-focused intern to support daily operations across three villa properties. You will shadow guest services, assist with process improvements, and contribute to AI-driven communications, gaining hands-on experience in hospitality tech.

This paid internship offers mentorship, a structured 6-month learning plan, and potential for ongoing opportunities based on performance. Remote-friendly with a 15:00–21:00 weekday schedule, Monday to Friday.

Qualificações

• Fluent in both English and Portuguese is required.

• Interest in hospitality and guest experience is essential.

Responsabilidades

• Guest Support: log guest details, manage deposits, coordinate cleaning, assist with emergencies, follow up post-check-in.
• AI Automation & Process Improvement: review guest reviews, propose automation for recurring tasks, monitor AI responses for improvements.
• Internal Reporting: produce clear handover reports each shift to ensure continuity for the next team member.

Profile We Are Looking For

This internship uses the daily operation of three large-group short-term rental properties as a live learning ground. The intern shadows and supports real hospitality operations, then applies that understanding to review processes, propose improvements, and help the team build automations. This isn't a traditional front-desk placement — it's more varied, more remote-friendly, and centered on learning by doing.

Responsibilities

1. Guest Support

• Guarantee all upcoming reservations are properly registered: guest details logged, security deposit status confirmed, Minut phone number registered
• Coordinate cleaning team availability when new reservations come in: confirm assignment with the team, flag conflicts, and help mobilize backup coverage when needed
• Support the team handling guest emergencies and noisy groups using escalation protocol
• Conduct welfare calls the day after check-in; gather and log guest feedback
• Confirm special requests (baby cots, early check-in, late checkout, add-ons like full fridge)
• Replenish consumables at each villa via online ordering, delivered to the property (cleaning team handles in-house placement)

2. AI Automation & Process Improvement

• Read, respond to, categorize, and synthesize guest reviews and chat feedback; identify recurring themes
• Review existing operational processes (e.g. noise control, check-in/checkout coordination) to find gaps and propose improved versions
• Propose automations for recurring operational tasks (e.g. reservation confirmations, next-day checkout reminders)
• Support continuous improvement of Nia, Edra's AI guest-communications agent — monitor her responses, flag gaps, and contribute first-draft improvements (not sole ownership — this is a learning-and-contributing role, not an independent build)

3. Internal Reporting & Process Communication

• Once per shift, produce a clear handover report covering what happened and what the team needs to know, so the next person picks up without gaps

Requirements

• Interests: Genuine interest in hospitality, guest experience, or operations
• Languages: Fluent in English and Portuguese (spoken and written)
• Skills: Comfortable with digital tools and messaging platforms; prior exposure to a PMS or spreadsheets is a plus, not required
• Attitude: Proactive, resourceful, and calm under pressure; comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing situations
• Availability: Monday to Friday, 15:00 – 21:00
• Commitment: Reliable with recurring commitments (welfare calls, shift handovers)
