HumanIT Digital Consulting is seeking a Project Manager (Software Engineering) in Lisbon. You will lead software engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale, cloud-native solutions, balancing people leadership, technical direction and program delivery.

This is a 12-month project starting in November 2026. The role is hybrid with 3 on-site days per week in Lisbon and regular working hours, with client interview as part of the process.

Qualifications

Experience leading software engineering teams in cloud-native environments.
Deep knowledge of software architecture, system design, APIs, and microservices.
Strong data engineering and analytics platform knowledge.
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, observability and secure development practices.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Lead software engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale, cloud-native solutions in Lisbon. This role sits at the intersection of people leadership, technical leadership and program delivery. It suits someone who builds strong teams and grows future leaders. This is a 12-month project starting in November 2026.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You’ll manage engineering teams in a cloud-native environment covering microservices, distributed systems and data and analytics platforms.
You’ll balance delivery commitments with technical direction and team development.
You’ll build strong partnerships across both technical and business organizations.
The work model is hybrid, with 3 days per week on-site in Lisbon and regular working hours.
The selection process includes an interview with the client.

WHAT WE’R LOOKING FOR (Required)

Demonstrated experience leading software engineering teams in a cloud-native environment
Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, API development, microservices and distributed systems
Solid knowledge of data engineering and analytics platforms
Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices, observability and reliability engineering, and security and secure development practices
Experience managing software engineering teams that deliver enterprise-scale solutions
Proven ability to balance people leadership, technical leadership and program delivery
