Job summary

HumanIT Digital Consulting is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure/AWS) to build and operate the cloud foundation for AI initiatives. This hybrid Lisbon role focuses on delivering scalable, secure AI platforms and agentic workflows across the organization.

You will automate provisioning, implement IaC and CI/CD, and work closely with security, data engineering and local IT teams to drive production readiness. Strong Python/SQL and cross-country collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

Experience in cloud-native development and deployment
Strong Azure experience with practical AWS exposure
Hands-on IaC, CI/CD, containerised workloads, monitoring & logging
Solid Python and SQL skills to support APIs and data workflows
Understanding of ETL, data pipelines, storage and integration patterns
Experience in cross-functional, international teams and with local IT teams
Comfort using GenAI tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor or OpenCode
Fluent English (B2 minimum)

DevOps Engineer (Azure/AWS) - Hybrid Lisbon (1-2 days/week office)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join one of Europe's largest parcel and logistics networks, present in around 40 countries with 1,600+ depots, at a key moment: the Group is centrally driving its AI agenda and rolling out Agentic AI across its countries. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will build and operate the cloud foundation for the Central AI team and its AI Hubs. Your work will make AI use cases, agents, data products and platform components reliable, scalable, secure and production-ready across the whole network.

This is a hands-on engineering role with strong delivery impact. You will work closely with Group AI leadership, the Agentic Platform team, data engineering, security, country IT and local implementation teams.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

The AI organisation runs on a multi-pillar model: domain-specific AI Hubs delivering advanced use cases, a central AI engineering pool, and an Agentic AI Platform that will let countries build and automate their own business processes. You will help take new AI use cases from incubation to deployment and scale. Your responsibilities include:

Building and operating cloud-native infrastructure for AI solutions, data pipelines, APIs, agents and platform services, with Azure as the primary platform and AWS where existing data or integration landscapes require it
Creating reusable infrastructure, deployment, observability and environment patterns that move teams from prototype to production faster
Automating provisioning, configuration, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, secrets management and cost controls for AI workloads
Supporting cloud architecture decisions for agentic workflows, model integrations, event-driven services, data platforms and external APIs
Working with security and data protection teams on identity, access, encryption, logging, isolation and operational resilience
Helping country IT and local teams onboard environments, connect systems, troubleshoot deployments and scale successful use cases
Continuously improving platform reliability, developer experience, cloud cost transparency and operational maturity

Work model: Hybrid, starting with 1-2 office days per week. This may later reduce to 1-2 office days per month. The office is in the Greater Lisbon area (Venda do Pinheiro, Mafra/Malveira). Full remote is not available.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

Senior-level experience in cloud-native development and deployment
Strong Azure experience, with practical exposure to AWS
Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, containerised workloads, monitoring, logging and operational support
Solid engineering skills in Python and SQL, enough to support APIs, data workflows and platform integrations
Understanding of enterprise data engineering concepts: ETL, data pipelines, data storage and integration patterns
Experience working in cross-functional, international teams and with local IT organisations
Comfortable using GenAI engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or OpenCode to speed up delivery
A pragmatic, outcome-driven mindset and comfort working in a fast-evolving AI environment
Languages: Fluent English (B2 minimum)

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

TypeScript
Hands-on data engineering experience
Experience with Snowflake, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Agent Framework, LangChain, MCP (Model Context Protocol) or comparable AI platform tooling
Exposure to frontend development, developer portals, workflow builders or internal platform UIs
Experience in heterogeneous, multi-country enterprise environments
Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS)
Hands-on experience with DevSecOps, platform engineering or SRE practices
