Gleeds in Sines, Portugal, seeks an intermediate or senior Project Manager to oversee client relationships and coordinate construction and installation on a data centre project.

The role is site-based and requires staying in Sines during the workweek, with no rotation. You will work with contractors, vendors and the Gleeds team to meet budget and schedule while ensuring safety and quality on site.

Qualificações

• Experience managing large-scale construction projects.
• Knowledge of technical requirements applied to the construction sector is desirable.
• Detailed knowledge and practical experience of project management techniques.
• Clear understanding of legislation impacting building contracts.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
• Sound ICT skills with MS Office suite.

• Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering objectives.
• Delivering high-quality services and ensuring PM deliverables meet customers’ requirements.
• Ensuring quality and compliance of construction and installation works.
• Facilitating clear communication between parties to ensure alignment and timely resolution.
• Working with vendors and contractors for on-time delivery and installation.
• Monitoring and controlling progress on-site and reporting non-conforming work.
• Taking site walks to promote safety and progress and track corrective actions.
• Coordinating and optimizing activities to eliminate waste on site.
• Preparing and monitoring technical submissions.
• Assisting in change management, including review of variations and delays.

Intermediate or Senior-level Project Manager, responsible for managing client relationships and coordinating construction and installation activities on a data centre project.

This role is site-based and requires staying in Sines during the workweek. No rotation or fly-in/fly-out arrangement applies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
• Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that project management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements and business procedures.
• Ensuring the quality and compliance of construction and installation works in accordance with the project specifications, budget, and schedule.
• Facilitating clear and effective communication between all parties, including general contractors, the client, and the Gleeds project team, to ensure alignment and timely resolution of issues.
• Working closely with vendors and contractors to ensure on-time delivery and installation of project-critical equipment.
• Monitoring and controlling the progress of construction and installation on-site.
• Taking regular site walks to promote and observe safety and progress, reporting and tracking any corrective actions through to timely completion.
• Monitoring on- and off-site works, recording and reporting non-conforming work, and driving the team for follow-up, preventative, and close-out actions.
• Ensuring that construction and installation activities are fully coordinated and optimised to eliminate wasteful activity on site.
• Preparing and monitoring technical submissions.
• Assisting in the change management process, including the review and assessment of proposed variations and any actual or anticipated delays.
• Working with the appointed general contractor to ensure that appropriate method statements are in place and signed off by the relevant parties in advance of installation.
• Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

• Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Professional level of English and Portuguese.
• Right to work in Portugal.
• Availability to work in Sines 5 days per week.

Qualifications

• Architecture or Engineering degree or technical education in the construction-related field
