Gleeds Corporate Services Ltd seeks an Intermediate or Senior Project Manager to lead client relationships and coordinate construction and installation activities on a data centre project. This site-based role requires staying in Sines during the workweek, with no rotation or fly-in/fly-out.

The role demands experience managing large-scale construction, strong communication, and robust project management skills in a bilingual (English/Portuguese) environment.

Qualificações

• English and Portuguese proficient; right to work in Portugal.

Responsabilidades

• Support Business Unit Directors in delivering objectives.
• Coordinate construction and installation activities on a data centre project.
• Ensure quality and compliance with project specs, budget, schedule.
• Facilitate clear communication between contractors, client, and Gleeds team.
• Work with vendors/contractors to ensure on-time delivery of equipment.
• Monitor progress of on-site construction and installation.
• Conduct regular site walks, report corrective actions to completion.
• Record and report non-conforming work, drive follow-up actions.
• Coordinate and optimize on-site activities to eliminate waste.
• Prepare and monitor technical submissions.
• Assist in change management and delay assessments.
• Ensure method statements are prepared and signed before installation.
• Advise Directors on issues affecting Gleeds PI insurance.

About this opportunity

Intermediate or Senior-level Project Manager, responsible for managing client relationships and coordinating construction and installation activities on a data centre project.

This role is site-based and requires staying in Sines during the workweek. No rotation or fly-in/fly-out arrangement applies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
• Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that project management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements and business procedures.
• Ensuring the quality and compliance of construction and installation works in accordance with the project specifications, budget, and schedule.
• Facilitating clear and effective communication between all parties, including general contractors, the client, and the Gleeds project team, to ensure alignment and timely resolution of issues.
• Working closely with vendors and contractors to ensure on-time delivery and installation of project-critical equipment.
• Monitoring and controlling the progress of construction and installation on-site.
• Taking regular site walks to promote and observe safety and progress, reporting and tracking any corrective actions through to timely completion.
• Monitoring on- and off-site works, recording and reporting non-conforming work, and driving the team for follow-up, preventive, and close-out actions.
• Ensuring that construction and installation activities are fully coordinated and optimised to eliminate wasteful activity on site.
• Preparing and monitoring technical submissions.
• Assisting in the change management process, including the review and assessment of proposed variations and any actual or anticipated delays.
• Working with the appointed general contractor to ensure that appropriate method statements are in place and signed off by the relevant parties in advance of installation.
• Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

• Experience managing large-scale construction projects.
• Knowledge of technical requirements applied to the construction sector is desirable.
• Detailed knowledge and practical experience of project management techniques.
• Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
• Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Professional level of English and Portuguese.
• Right to work in Portugal.
• Availability to work in Sines 5 days per week.

Qualifications

• Architecture or Engineering degree or technical education in the construction-related field
