A leading global project management consultancy is seeking a Senior Cost Management professional to manage mechanical and electrical services for data centre construction in Sines, Portugal. You will have M&E cost management experience in large-scale projects, a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and strong communication skills. This full-time role requires on-site presence, with an emphasis on quality service delivery and effective stakeholder management.

Qualificações

Sound M&E cost management experience in large-scale construction projects.
Professional knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and installations.
Knowledge of industry standards around equipment and engineering specifications.

Responsabilidades

Manage cost aspects of mechanical and electrical services in data centres.
Support Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
Deliver high-quality services that meet customer requirements.
Prepare cost estimates and option studies.
Evaluate and report on tenders.

Descrição da oferta de emprego

Senior cost management professional responsible for managing the cost aspects of mechanical and electrical services within data centres construction project.

Location: Sines, Portugal. This role requires being on-site during the work week. No rotation or fly-in/fly-out arrangement applies.

Responsibilities

Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
Delivering high quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
Managing projects and to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures.
Preparing and presenting order of cost estimates and option studies.
M&E cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Evaluating and reporting on tenders.
Valuing completed work and arranging for payments.
Settling final accounts.
Administrating M&E contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.
Producing and presenting reports to Customers.
Working closely with project teams to integrate M&E cost management into overall project delivery.
Identifying and managing cost-related risks and opportunities in M&E services.
Managing service delivery for profit.
Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

Candidate Profile

Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

Sound M&E cost management experience in large-scale construction projects, including data centres or other mission critical projects.
Professional knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and installations.
Knowledge of industry standards around equipment and engineering specifications relating to Data Centers.
Working knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
Good knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks.
Clear and effective communication skills – both oral and written.
Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
Excellent problem, negotiating, finance and numeracy management skills.
Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Proficiency in English. Portuguese is desirable.
Available to work in Sines 5 days per week (no rotation applies).

Qualifications

Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree.
