Based in Lisbon, our multidisciplinary team is committed to quality, innovation, and regulatory excellence, creating solutions that engage players and stand out in the highly competitive i‑gaming regulated market.

As the Product Owner, you will lead the back-end development of our cutting‑edge online sports betting platform. Acting as the bridge between business needs and technical teams, you’ll drive the creation of scalable, reliable and innovative solutions. Your role includes defining requirements, prioritizing features and collaborating across teams to ensure exceptional performance and user experience.

The role should be based at the office in the Carnaxide area (up to 8 days per month remotely), and the first month is fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Define, prioritize and maintain the back-end product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Plan sprints effectively, fostering team alignment and continuous improvement in communication and productivity.
Translate stakeholder requirements into detailed user stories and technical specifications.
Develop and communicate a clear roadmap focused on API integration, microservices, and platform stability.
Collaborate with engineers, architects and DevOps teams to execute back-end development.
Ensure efficient, scalable APIs and microservices to support front-end operations. Oversee system design, technical documentation and API specifications.
Partner with QA to conduct acceptance testing for new features.
Use tools like Postman to validate API functionality and performance.
Monitor system health with Datadog or Instana, proactively addressing issues.
Act as a bridge between business teams, developers, and external partners.
Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and key performance metrics.

Requirements

3-5 years of experience working with digital products as a Product Owner or Project Manager, ideally in online sports betting or iGaming.
Hands‑on experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
Strong understanding of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) concepts and iterative development.
Solid knowledge of API development and microservices architecture.
Experience with tools like Postman for API testing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to lead and motivate cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
Analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
Ability to break down complex problems into clear deliverables with defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
Skilled in analyzing and interpreting data to drive informed decision‑making.
