Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a Lab Supervisor for the Product Failure Analysis laboratory in Portugal. You will organize daily activities, supervise the team, and ensure accurate data collection and interpretation of failure analyses, in line with company procedures.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, coordinating materials, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while liaising with internal departments and external partners.

Qualifications

• Secondary technical education required.
• Preferably two or more years of experience as Supervisor.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and use datasheets.
• Procure tools and components for prototype electronics lab.
• Ability to set up and use standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs).
• Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vibration, humidity).
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, plans, prioritizes, operates, and monitors daily lab activities.
• Directs preparation of lab materials, equipment, and workstations.
• Supervises staff conducting failures analysis and interpreting results.
• Maintain records, data, and reports.
• Manage lab supplies and inventory.
• Develops systems to support assay development and testing.
• Ensure safety and compliance with health, safety, and environment rules.
• Liaises with external parties and supports internal departments.
