Alts Digital is seeking a People Operations Lead to architect our employee experience in a remote-first Portugal-based setting. You’ll own key People Ops processes, ensuring every team member feels valued, supported, and excited to be part of our journey across cultural and time-zone boundaries.

In this role you’ll optimize onboarding, data management, compliance, recruitment support, learning & development, and employer branding, while leveraging AI tools to automate tasks and improve workflows.

Qualificações

• 3+ years of experience in People/HR roles in Portugal.
• Degree in Human Resources, Work Psychology or similar.
• Solid knowledge of Portuguese labor law.
• Comfortable using AI daily to automate HR tasks.
• Recruitment and sourcing experience for niche profiles.
• Experience working in startups or scale-ups is a plus.
• Comfort with HRIS platforms (Humaans).
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.

Scope of the job

We are looking for a People Operations Lead to become the architect of our employee experience at Alts. While you'll own critical People Ops processes, your primary focus will be ensuring every team member feels valued, supported, and genuinely excited to be part of our journey. In our remote environment, you'll be instrumental in building authentic connections, fostering our culture, and continuously improving how we support our people. You'll spot opportunities to enhance the employee experience and turn them into reality, whether through better processes, innovative solutions, or simply making sure everyone feels heard and cared for.

What You'll Do

Core People Operations

• Employee Lifecycle Management: Execute end-to-end processes including onboarding, offboarding, compensation reviews, contract management, benefits administration, and leave coordination

• Data Management: Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in our HRIS (Humaans)

• Compliance: Ensure adherence to Portuguese labor laws and maintain comprehensive internal documentation

• Travel Coordination: Manage business travel logistics including flights, accommodation, and itineraries

Employee Support & Experience

• Primary Support: Serve as first point of contact for employee and manager inquiries, providing timely and empathetic assistance

• Recruitment Support: Coordinate full-cycle recruitment processes

• People Programs: Support engagement surveys, performance management cycles, and learning & development initiatives

• Employer Branding: Collaborate on initiatives to strengthen our employer brand

• Events: Plan and execute virtual and in-person team events, including our signature Workation

Process Optimization & Innovation

• Workflow Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement streamlined People Ops processes

• Automation: Reduce manual work through AI tools and process automation

• Analytics: Leverage HR metrics to drive data-informed decisions

Your attitude & background

• 3+ years of experience in People/HR roles in Portugal or Portugal-based companies

• Degree in Human Resources, Work Psychology or similar

• Solid knowledge of Portuguese labor law

• Comfortable using AI daily (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or similar) to automate HR tasks

• Recruitment and sourcing experience for niche, hard-to-find profiles

• Experience working in startups or scale-ups is a plus

• Comfort with HRIS platforms (we use Humaans)

• Fluency in English and Portuguese
