Aubay Portugal is seeking a seasoned database operations engineer to ensure health, scalability and performance of our production databases. You will manage PostgreSQL and NoSQL workloads, implement replication and disaster recovery, and automate provisioning with IaC and CI/CD in a hybrid Porto environment.

The role requires deep PostgreSQL expertise, hands-on NoSQL experience, strong scripting (Python/Go), and solid networking/security knowledge. English is essential in our international team.

Qualificações

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in database operations, engineering, DevOps, or backend engineering.
• Deep expertise with PostgreSQL covering performance tuning, replication, high availability, backup/restore, and schema design.
• Hands-on experience with at least one NoSQL/document store (MongoDB/Cassandra/Redis).
• Strong scripting/automation skills (Python/Go) with production DB operations on Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals; fluent English in an international team.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure end-to-end operational health, high availability, scalability, and performance of the database fleet (PostgreSQL, NoSQL, time-series).
• Design replication, high-availability, failover, and disaster recovery patterns across diverse infrastructure and Azure regions.
• Automate database provisioning, patching, scaling, and failover via infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and improve database observability with metrics, logs, traces, slow-query analysis, and proactive alerting.

What will you do?

• Ensure the end-to-end operational health, high availability, scalability, and performance of the database fleet (including PostgreSQL, NoSQL, and time-series stores).
• Design and implement robust replication, high-availability, failover, and disaster recovery patterns across diverse infrastructure and Azure regions.
• Automate database provisioning, patching, scaling, and failover processes using infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and improve database observability capabilities, including metrics, logs, traces, slow-query analysis, and proactive alerting.
