OpenShift SME!
Mission
We are looking for an experienced Senior OpenShift Platform Architect / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the evolution, governance, and technical direction of our OpenShift platform in a critical enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical SME for the OpenShift platform.
- Define architecture standards and best practices for Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
- Drive the evolution and continuous improvement of the OpenShift platform architecture.
- Establish governance models and operational standards for platform adoption and usage.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Architecture teams to align platform strategy with organizational objectives.
Reliability, Availability & Resilience
- Define and implement strategies for:
- High Availability (HA)
- Disaster Recovery (DR)
- Business Continuity
- Observability
- Support lifecycle management, upgrades, and platform modernization initiatives.
- Ensure platform resilience, scalability, and operational excellence.
Security & Compliance
- Define and enforce best practices for:
- Security hardening
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Security Context Constraints (SCC)
- Secrets Management
- Review critical workloads and deployments to ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
Operations & Technical Leadership
- Support advanced troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical incidents.
- Assist operational teams in resolving complex performance, security, and availability issues.
- Define governance and best practices for GitOps and CI/CD processes.
- Support the adoption of Kubernetes workload standards and operational best practices.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to SRE and OpenShift engineering teams.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Strong enterprise-level experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and evolving Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Service Mesh technologies (e.g., Istio)
- Observability platforms and practices
- Kubernetes and platform security
- Hands-on experience with GitOps methodologies and ArgoCD.
- Strong understanding of:
- High Availability (HA)
- Disaster Recovery (DR)
- Business Continuity
- Platform Resilience
- Extensive experience in advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Experience working in critical, highly regulated, or mission-critical environments.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven technical leadership skills.
- Experience mentoring and coaching technical teams.
- Strong focus on standards, governance, and operational excellence.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive architectural decisions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
- Relevant certifications in Kubernetes, OpenShift, cloud platforms, or related technologies are highly valued.
