Mercor seeks meticulous Odia language specialists to annotate and transcribe Odia documents. You will bound page regions, assign types, and ensure faithful Odia transcription of handwritten and printed text across varied layouts.

This role emphasizes character-level accuracy, handling multi-column pages, tables, and diagrams, with reviews by a second Odia expert. You will work on publicly accessible Odia PDFs to build diverse training data.

Qualificações

• Native Odia speaker with full command of Odia script and conjunct forms.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, localization or related language data work.
• Attention to character-level accuracy; a single wrong diacritic is a defect.
• Systematic approach applying consistent taxonomy across pages.
• Comfortable with unfamiliar layouts: multi-column newspapers, exams, handwritten forms.

Responsabilidades

• Source publicly accessible Odia PDFs containing multimodal elements and record source details.
• Annotate structure by bounding regions and assigning component types and reading order.
• Record relationships by linking regions to their parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe faithfully in Odia script, noting illegible regions.
• Capture metadata: language, document type, page dimensions, flags.
• Review work through second expert check.
