Job summary

Decskill, part of the Astek Group, is seeking a Network Security Engineer for a Porto project with a hybrid work model. You will focus on security and internet architectures for external connectivity platforms, covering L2/L3 support, design, deployment and run activities within an Infrastructure, Production and Security team.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, strong firewall skills, and DNS/IPS/IDS knowledge. English at B2 level is mandatory; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong firewall knowledge (Fortinet, Palo Alto).
• Experience with load-balancing technologies (F5).
• Experience with WAF technologies (Ubika or similar).
• DNS, IPS and IDS knowledge.
• Perimeter operations, capacity planning and resiliency.
• Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Autonomous, team player and fast learner.
• English at B2 level (mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Carry out studies and maintain operation conditions of internet, partner and market data architectures.
• Provide supervision and level 2/3 support on security, internet, market data and partner infrastructures.
• Upgrade and deploy security devices on the network.
• Design solutions for new technologies or versions, client projects, capacity planning and resiliency.
• Automate perimeter processes and controls.
• Perform VLAN/DMZ/L2L VPN related tasks and testing.
• Carry out proofs of concept for new functionalities and technologies.
• Take part in night and weekend operations and on-call rotation.

Network Security Engineer for a project in Porto with a hybrid working model:

This role focuses on security and internet architectures for external connectivity platforms, covering level 2/3 support, design, deployment and run activities within an Infrastructure, Production and Security team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out studies and maintain operational conditions of internet, partner and market data architectures.
• Provide supervision and level 2/3 support on security, internet, market data and partner infrastructures.
• Upgrade and deploy security devices on the network.
• Design solutions for new technologies or versions, client projects, capacity planning and resiliency.
• Automate perimeter processes and controls.
• Perform common operations such as VIP creation, DMZ creation and L2L VPN deployment.
• Perform basic and advanced debugging (firewall/WAF traces, log analysis, advanced technical commands, Fortinet synchronization checks).
• Handle RMA and installation activities: installation from scratch, configuration and testing.
• Carry out proofs of concept for new functionalities and technologies.
• Take part in night and weekend operations when needed and in the service on-call rotation.

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of experience working on security infrastructure solutions.
• Strong knowledge of firewall technologies (Fortinet, Palo Alto).
• Experience with load-balancing technologies (F5).
• Experience with WAF technologies (Ubika or similar).
• Knowledge of DNS, IPS and IDS.
• Knowledge of perimeter operations, capacity planning and resiliency.
• Good communication, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Autonomous, team player and fast learner.
• English at B2 level (mandatory).

Nice to Have:

• French at B2 level.
