Job summary

AdvanceWorks is seeking a Mid Data Scientist to grow in applied AI, taking solutions from business problem to deployment with senior support. You will shape use cases across ML, GenAI, RAG and intelligent agents, deciding on models, LLMs and prompt engineering.

Day to day you will build data pipelines and models in PySpark, develop full-stack agents, and help evaluate, monitor and improve model outputs. Hybrid work with a focus on real-world customer impact.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in Machine Learning and/or Generative AI.
• Solid foundations in modeling, optimization and LLMs.
• Exposure to RAG and embeddings.
• Exposure to model evaluation or monitoring.
• Programming experience in Python and PySpark.
• Exposure to agentic frameworks such as Microsoft Agent Framework, LangGraph or LangChain.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure is a plus.
• Experience with text and conversation analysis is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
• Availability to work in a hybrid model, with 3 days per week at the office in Picoas, Lisbon.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and development of ML, GenAI, RAG and agent-based use cases.
• Translate business needs into concrete analytical solutions.
• Contribute to the technical approach, including model selection and prompt engineering.
• Develop data pipelines and models using Python and PySpark.
• Build ML models for churn, next best action, upselling and fault detection.
• Create LLM-based assistants and GenAI solutions for business use.
• Develop RAG solutions using embeddings and Azure AI Search.
• Build intelligent agents and voicebots integrating multiple data sources.
• Develop full-stack agents covering frontend and backend.
• Use AI-assisted development tools in daily work.
• Work with data in Microsoft Fabric and its central data layer.
• Support model lifecycle with Azure Machine Learning.
• Monitor and evaluate model outputs and quality.
• Collaborate with teams to industrialize solutions and track impact.
