EDP Renewables in Lisbon, Portugal, seeks a Market Modeling Specialist to generate and validate short-term energy forecasts and to continuously improve forecasting models. You will work within the Forecast & Modeling team to analyze data, automate processes, and provide actionable insights for senior management.

The role requires strong skills in time series forecasting, Python, SQL, and Power BI, with familiarity with cloud platforms and energy markets.

Our Forecast & Modeling team intends to recruit a Market Modeling Specialist.

What you will do:

• Generate and validate short-term (day-ahead/intraday) forecasts for electricity load and surplus generation (post self-consumption) across all relevant geographies
• Monitor forecast deviations, analyze root causes, and propose cost-benefit improvement measures.
• Maintain and develop forecasting models to reduce forecast deviations, including recalibration and integration of exogenous variables.
• Extract, process, and provide relevant information from data systems/sources to support business monitoring and prepare datasets for regulatory reporting.
• Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, including automation, standardization, and control enhancements.
• Actively collaborate with other areas of the organization in the development of shared processes/procedures/methodologies.
