Due to the company’s continual growth and forthcoming capital deployment stream, Arrow intends to select: Manager – Private Equity Origination. The candidate will sit within the Origination Team, covering all platforms of the Arrow Group in Portugal – Whitestar, Norfin, Restart Capital and Details Hotel & Resorts.
Job Description:
- Lead the underwriting and execution of real estate debt transactions, including development finance, bridge finance and other structured lending solutions.
- Oversee the Deal Team across the full transaction lifecycle, ensuring that financial analysis, valuation, risk assessment, due diligence and documentation workstreams progress efficiently and to a high standard.
- Coordinate the preparation of Investment Committee materials, credit papers, underwriting outputs, due diligence reports and transaction recommendations.
- Work with and support the Origination team when required, including in the deal structuring, assessment of new opportunities, indicative terms and borrower discussions.
- Manage relationships and workflow with external legal, technical, valuation, tax, financial and insurance advisors, ensuring timely and focused input into the underwriting and execution process.
- Support negotiation of key financing terms, security packages, conditions precedent and transaction documentation, in coordination with senior leadership and legal counsel.
- Mentor, coordinate and develop a team of analysts and associates, including resource planning, prioritisation, quality control and training.
- Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of the underwriting operating model, including templates, approval processes, risk frameworks, reporting standards and execution discipline.
Requirements
- Undergraduate and/or Master’s degree in Finance, Management, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in M&A, financial transactions, and/or real estate transactions
- Experience in private debt, alternative lending or banking is a plus.
- Proven ability to underwrite real estate financing opportunities, including business plan analysis, borrower assessment, valuation review, sensitivity analysis, risk identification and credit recommendation.
- Experience preparing Investment Committee materials, due diligence workstreams, transaction summaries, credit papers and internal approval documentation.
- Strong understanding of financing documentation, transaction security, conditions precedent, loan covenants and closing processes.
- Advanced financial modelling, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese; additional European languages are a plus.
- Proven experience managing teams or complex deal processes, with the ability to coordinate 4-5 team members across multiple live transactions.
- Strong leadership, coaching and prioritisation skills, with a clear focus on quality control and delivery under tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills, sound judgement, attention to detail and ability to assess risk objectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex financing matters clearly to senior stakeholders and Investment Committee members.
- Commercial mindset and ability to balance risk protection with transaction execution and client responsiveness.
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with Origination, Legal, Asset Management, Finance, Risk and external advisors.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including with borrowers, sponsors, investors, lenders, legal counsel and technical advisors.
