Decskill is seeking an Application Production Support & Sys Admin to join our IT team in Portugal. The role focuses on maintaining applications, resolving user issues, and managing releases with a proactive, service-oriented mindset.

You will work across Linux systems, database queries, scripting, and DevOps tooling to ensure performance and reliability. This is an opportunity to grow in an international environment with strong collaboration and modern technologies.

Qualificações

• Linux (RHEL 7/8, SLES, Ubuntu) system administration and tuning.
• SQL expertise with MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle/MS-SQL, queries and plans.
• Bash/Python scripting for logs, health checks, remediation.
• Hands-on DevOps: Ansible playbooks, CI/CD integration.
• Terraform/Helm knowledge for infra provisioning.
• Docker and Kubernetes basic pod debugging and logging.
• Monitoring with Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana.
• ITIL/ITSM process familiarity (incident, change, release).
• Ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.
• Good level of English.

We are looking for an Application Production Support & Sys Admin!

Responsibilities

• Responds to users and fixes technical, functional or business logic issues within an application.
• Implementing monitoring and supervise the application’s technical and functional components.
• Orchestrating and managing the various releases within the scope.
• Managing requests for functiona/ technical upgrades.
• Performing technical integration of applications based on existing products and services, in order to reduce implementation times.
• Creating and enriching the application document baseline. Maintaining operating procedures.
• Contributing to the processes belonging to the activity in compliance with requirements and carrying out the necessary remediations.
• Analysing, measuring and improving the performance of the application’s technical and functional components in order to improve the user experience

Requirements

• Strong hands‑on experience with Linux (RHEL 7/8, SLES, Ubuntu) – system administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, kernel parameters.
• Proficient in SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle or MS‑SQL) – writing/optimising queries, analysing execution plans, basic DBA tasks (user/role management, backups).
• Bash / Python (or PowerShell on Windows) – scripting for log parsing, health‑checks, incident remediation.
• Experience with DevOps:
• Ansible – playbook authoring, role development, inventory management, integration with CI/CD pipelines.
• Basic knowledge of Terraform / Helm (optional) for infrastructure provisioning.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (basic pod debugging, log aggregation).
• Monitoring
• Dynatrace – configuration of agents, custom metrics, dashboard creation, problem detection, root‑cause analysis.
• Familiarity with Prometheus / Grafana
• Understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes (incident, problem, change, release).
• Experience with ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA Service Management).
• Good level of english.
