rb2 is building an AI-first engineering practice with teams in Purmerend, Lisbon, and Xiamen. You will lead architecture, set direction, and stay close to code to shape delivery across time zones.

You will drive AI-assisted development, ship prototypes in short sprints, and grow engineers while maintaining a product mindset focused on user impact and business value. Hybrid work and deep tooling support are offered.

Qualificações

• Hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong cloud experience, including serverless platforms.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering.
• Product-minded with a data-driven approach.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development such as Copilot, Cursor, LLM integration.

Build things that last. And things that ship in three weeks. At rb2, you'll lead the engineering behind two kinds of work: scalable commerce platforms that large B2B brands rely on for years, and fast innovation sprints where you validate a bold idea and get a working prototype in front of users. You'll own the architecture, set the technical direction, and stay close enough to the code to shape it yourself.

We're building an AI-first engineering practice. Our teams already run on approximately 75% AI-assisted development, and our management leads from the front. You'll help define how a modern engineering team designs, ships, and operates when AI is a core part of the workflow, not an afterthought.

What you'll do

• Lead a small international engineering team across Purmerend, Lisbon, and Xiamen, setting direction, growing people, and keeping delivery sharp across time zones
• Keep writing code and stay close to the codebase, so the architectural calls you make are grounded in the work
• Turn ambiguous business goals into technical plans and push back with lower-effort alternatives when they deliver similar impact
• Ship validated prototypes in short innovation sprints and own the long-term architecture of platforms brands depend on
• Drive our adoption of AI-assisted development through tooling, patterns, and team standards

What we're looking for

• Strong, hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Solid cloud experience, including serverless platforms
• Proven experience leading engineering teams: you have grown engineers and owned delivery, not just managed tickets
• A product mindset: you think in user impact and business value, validate with data, and care about the why, not only the how
• Comfort with, or genuine curiosity about, AI-assisted development such as Copilot, Cursor, LLM integration, and where the field is heading
• Fluent English; Dutch is a plus

• €6,000-€6,750 gross per month based on 40 hours, plus a bonus of up to two months' salary and a 5% additional contribution
