Job Summary

As the Product Development Lead at Rovo, you will take the helm of the onboarding stream within the product development function. Your primary responsibility is to drive the successful transition of new products, factories, and key account innovations from ideation to production readiness. You will lead a team of product developers, collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, Quality and Specialized teams to shape a scalable, quality-driven onboarding process that resonates with Rovo's innovation ethos and client-centric approach. At the same time, you will align with the Sales team to make sure we always keep our customers satisfied.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic oversight with deep technical and operational involvement. You’ll champion process excellence, develop the onboarding roadmap, and ensure alignment across all development touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Product Developers and associated roles.
  • Define goals, provide continuous feedback, and guide team development aligned with company OKRs.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Strategic Onboarding Execution
  • Oversee and evolve the onboarding process for new products, factories, and partners.
  • Translate commercial briefs and R&D innovations into actionable development pipelines.
  • Partner with the Head of Product to prioritize projects and ensure timely execution.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Liaise with the Garment Tech, Quality and R&D teams to ensure product feasibility and innovation.
  • Partner with Sales to co-create product solutions aligned with client needs.
  • Collaborate with the Vendor Manager and sourcing leads to support strategic factory onboarding.
Process Optimization & Tools
  • Develop scalable frameworks and SOPs to manage onboarding workflows, prototypes, and documentation.
  • Drive process improvements and tech tool adoption (e.g., PLM systems) to increase efficiency and traceability.
Quality, Cost, and Risk Management
  • Ensure high standards of quality and compliance throughout onboarding milestones.
  • Balance cost targets with design integrity and client expectations through early risk mitigation strategies.
Factory Engagement & Standards
  • Lead the strategic onboarding of new factories, ensuring alignment with Rovo’s technical and ethical standards.
  • Set the tone for long-term collaboration by establishing expectations, development KPIs, and quality metrics.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
  • Maintain clear communication with senior leadership through status updates, risk assessments, and onboarding dashboards.
  • Support data-driven decision-making by delivering regular reports on product onboarding performance and team progress.

Preferred Qualifications (Must-have/Nice-to-have)

Must-have:

  • 6–10 years of experience in product development and team leadership in the textile or apparel industry.
  • Proven track record of managing onboarding for new products and vendor relationships.
  • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, material development, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in English; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to think strategically and act operationally, managing both macro and micro priorities.
Nice-to-have:
  • Degree in Fashion, Textile Engineering, Product Management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, and tech pack workflows.
  • Experience in sustainable product development and lifecycle management.
