Decskill is seeking a Junior Application Support professional to join our Porto team on a hybrid basis. You will support production environments, monitor systems, and troubleshoot across Linux and Windows.

The role involves batch job execution with scheduling tools, basic database queries, and maintaining scripts to automate tasks. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in similar roles, strong Linux/Windows knowledge, and English proficiency (B2+).

We would like to meet a Junior Application Support for a project with a hybrid working model in Porto.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in application support or similar roles.


• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows systems administration.


• Experience with job schedulers (Control-M or similar).


• Proficiency in scripting (Shell, Python, and/or PowerShell).


• Experience with application servers (JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, IIS).


• Knowledge of databases (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, MySQL) with basic SQL skills.


• Experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana preferred).


• Familiarity with infrastructure backups.


• Knowledge of LDAP, Active Directory, Firewalls, Reverse Proxy, Kerberos.


• Basic understanding of container-based infrastructure.


• Basic networking knowledge.


• English proficiency (minimum B2)

Responsibilities:

• Provide application support in production environments, ensuring system availability and performance.


• Monitor applications and infrastructure using monitoring tools, identifying and resolving incidents proactively.


• Manage and troubleshoot issues across Linux and Windows systems.


• Execute and monitor batch jobs using scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M).


• Perform basic database queries and troubleshooting (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).


• Support application servers such as JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, or IIS.


• Develop and maintain scripts (Shell, Python, PowerShell) to automate operational tasks.


• Handle infrastructure backups and ensure data integrity.


• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to resolve issues and improve system stability.


• Contribute to continuous improvement with a DevOps mindset.
