Join a remote technology opportunity in Portugal supporting strategic initiatives within the energy and utilities sector. You will provide technical leadership across Java-based applications, combining hands-on expertise with complex solution design, technical quality and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead technical decisions and contribute hands-on to Java-based application development and evolution.
• Design solutions for complex technical requirements while supporting robust and maintainable application architectures.
• Manage and prioritize technical debt to improve application quality and long-term maintainability.
• Maintain clear and accurate technical application documentation.
• Analyze infrastructure change requirements and coordinate the necessary technical inputs.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives in collaboration with multidisciplinary and globally distributed teams.
• Promote delivery quality, effective problem resolution and collaborative technical practices.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Extensive professional experience with Java technologies, supported by the autonomy and technical leadership expected from a Tech Lead.
• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a comparable field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on delivery quality.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.
• Experience designing complex technical solutions and contributing directly to their implementation.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Understanding of the energy and utilities sector and GDPR requirements.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Java and associated application technologies and frameworks.
