Hexa Group in Lisbon is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to contribute to high-criticality digital platforms in financial services and payments. You will design, build and optimize cloud-oriented backends and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

You will work on microservices, ensure security, observability, and performance, participate in architecture discussions, and collaborate with SRE, QA and security teams to deliver resilient systems.

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to contribute to high-criticality digital platforms in the financial services and payments sector. This opportunity focuses on cloud-oriented backend development, resilient distributed systems, secure APIs and performance optimization in environments with demanding availability, latency and transaction volume requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs and business logic using Java and Spring Boot, following modern software engineering practices.
• Design and evolve microservices aligned with cloud native and cloud agnostic principles, with attention to scalability, resilience and maintainability.
• Write unit, integration and contract tests, and support QA teams in test automation activities.
• Participate in technical solution design with architecture teams, ensuring alignment with defined architectural principles.
• Collaborate with architecture, QA, SRE, security and business stakeholders during refinement, planning and code review activities.
• Build secure and observable software from the start, including structured logging, tracing, metrics and operational readiness.
• Contribute to technical documentation for services, APIs and relevant design decisions.
• Analyze incidents and technical issues in development, QA and certification environments, including third-line support for problem analysis and resolution.
