Job summary

emagine is seeking a Java Developer Mid to join a center of excellence for a leading multinational fintech company. The role is hybrid in Lisbon, with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote, contributing to a scalable backend using Java 8+ and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience, strong SQL/RDBMS skills, and hands-on experience with JPA/Hibernate and CI/CD pipelines. English proficiency should be at least B2+.

Qualifications

• A higher education degree is required.
• At least 3 years of Java backend development experience (Java 8+) for Mid level.
• Experience with Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL).
• Experience in JPA and Hibernate.
• Knowledge of microservices-based architecture (hexagonal etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• English proficiency at least B2+.

We are looking for a Java Developer Mid for an opportunity to join and be part of the creation of a center of excellence for a leading multinational fintech company.

The project’s work model has been updated to 2 days per week in the office in Lisbon and 3 days working from home.

Required qualifications:

• The candidate must have at least one higher education degree.
• Experience with Java Backend development with strong theoretical knowledge (Java >= 8) (3+ years for Mid profiles).
• Experience with Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience in RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL).
• Experience in JPA and Hibernate.
• Knowledge in Application architecture (MicroServices based architecture, hexagonal…)
• Experience with CI/CD.
• English proficiency should be at least B2+ level.

Ideally, the candidate should also have:

• Experience with Java Frontend (Angular or any other UI framework).
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platform.
• Problem-solving skills and logical reasoning.
• Passion for learning and growing as a developer.
• Experience working in an Agile environment and Scrum methodologies.

The position is hybrid, requiring 2 days per week in the office in Lisbon and 3 days working from home, facilitating a balanced workflow.
