We Are META seeks a Java Backend Developer to design and maintain enterprise applications. You will work on Spring Boot/Spring Security, REST APIs, and event-driven microservices using Kafka or RabbitMQ, with NoSQL/SQL databases and containerized deployments.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of Java backend experience, cloud awareness (AWS), and a pragmatic DevOps/CI/CD mindset. Hybrid work is available, with Lisbon onsite once per week, and English fluency is required.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of experience as a Java Back-End Developer building and maintaining enterprise apps with Spring Boot, Spring Security, and REST APIs.
• Strong experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures with messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Solid background with relational and/or NoSQL databases and data modeling.

For this position, the perfect Rhino should have the following skills:

• 7+ years of experience as a Java Back-End Developer, building and maintaining enterprise applications with Spring Boot, Spring Security, and REST APIs
• Strong experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures, including messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Solid background working with relational and/or NoSQL databases and data modeling
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container technologies, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, and contract testing)
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to support code quality, testing, documentation, and productivity
• Experience with Git and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Fluency in English (B2); German language skills are a plus
• Availability for hybrid work (1x/week onsite in Lisbon) based in Portugal (candidates should be based in Portugal with Portuguese or EU citizenship, or a valid work permit).
