Job summary

Komodo Consulting in Lisbon, Portugal, seeks a Java Backend Developer to design scalable microservices for Checkout, MyAccount, and ODR Processing.

You will own full feature lifecycle, integrate Keycloak/Okta IAM flows, build RESTful and GraphQL APIs with OpenAPI docs, and use AWS SQS/Solace for event-driven patterns while upholding code quality with SonarQube/Snyk and mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Java Backend Developer.
• Strong proficiency in Java and React.
• Experience with microservices, RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Hands-on with Keycloak and/or Okta IAM flows (OIDC, RBAC).
• Experience with AWS SQS and Solace messaging.
• Familiarity with SonarQube and Snyk.
• C1 level English and Portuguese.
• Must be based in Portugal.

Responsibilities

The Project

We are seeking a Java Backend Developer to work on a Technology project.

You will have the following responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable Java microservices for Checkout, MyAccount, and ODR Processing features;
• Own the full feature lifecycle, including architecture discussion, implementation, testing, code review, and deployment;
• Integrate and configure Keycloak and Okta IAM flows, including OIDC, RBAC, and token customization;
• Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs with full OpenAPI documentation;
• Implement event-driven patterns using AWS SQS and Solace messaging;
• Enforce quality standards through SonarQube, Snyk, and code review practices;
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge transfer within the squad;
• Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to the client's engineering standards.

You need to have the following skills/experience:

• 4+ years of experience as a Java Backend Developer;
• Strong proficiency in Java and React;
• Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful and GraphQL API development;
• Hands-on experience with Keycloak and/or Okta IAM flows, including OIDC and RBAC;
• Experience with event-driven architectures using AWS SQS and/or Solace messaging;
• Familiarity with code quality tools such as SonarQube and Snyk;
• C1 level proficiency in both English and Portuguese;
• Must be based in Portugal.

Location

Lisbon (Hybrid - 3 days per week at the office).
