IRIUM Portugal is seeking a Senior Java Back End developer to lead design and development of scalable, high‑performing software solutions using modern frameworks and Agile practices.

You should be highly proficient in Java Spring, with strong backend experience, and comfortable guiding teammates across multiple teams. This hybrid role requires three days in the Lisbon office and English at C1 level.

Requirements

• Senior Java Back End to join a challenging project, taking a key role in the design and development of scalable, high-performing software solutions using modern frameworks and Agile practices.
• Strong/expert proficiency in Java Spring
• Strong experience in backend software development
• Experience designing, developing, and enhancing robust software components
• Experience developing scalable and high-performance applications
• Ability to analyse complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to contribute to technical decisions and solutions across multiple teams
• Experience supporting and guiding team members through knowledge sharing and technical expertise
• Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for improving software solutions
• Strong understanding of modern software development and Agile practices
• English – minimum C1
• Availability to work 3 days per week at the office in Lisbon

Work Model

3 days per week at the office

Salary Range: €*****–€***** gross/month
