Job summary

Aubay Portugal is seeking a Level 2/3 Application Support Engineer to join our Lisbon team in a hybrid work model. You will execute integration and regression tests, investigate discrepancies, and work across Java services, databases, and legacy components.

Strong English communication is essential for international collaboration. We value your ability to read code and logs, query SQL, and document findings precisely to support defect resolution and re-testing within a dynamic banking IT

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as Level 2/3 Application Support Engineer.
• Experience in Banking IT environment is a plus.
• Ability to understand architecture, data flows, interfaces, and dependencies across distributed and legacy components.
• Able to read Java code, query SQL, and correlate logs with behavior.
• Excellent English (C1) for international context.

Responsibilities

• Execute integration and regression tests for the wealth calculation platform, using comparison dashboards and supporting evidence.
• Investigate end-to-end calculation differences, tracing anomalies from dashboards to root causes.
• Understand application architecture, interfaces, processing flows, and dependencies across Java services, databases, and legacy components.
• Read and interpret Java code, application logs, and technical documentation to qualify defects and explain observed system behavior.
• Query application tables with SQL to validate data inputs, intermediate results, and outputs across systems.
• Document investigation findings precisely and collaborate with development teams and SMEs for defect resolution and re-testing.

• Investigate end-to-end calculation differences, tracing anomalies from monitoring dashboards to their underlying root causes;
• Comprehend application architecture, interfaces, processing flows, and dependencies across Java services, databases, and legacy components;
• Read and interpret Java code, application logs, and technical documentation to qualify defects and explain observed system behavior;
• Query application tables with SQL to validate data inputs, intermediate results, and outputs, reconciling information across various systems;
• Document investigation findings precisely and collaborate with development teams and subject-matter experts for defect resolution and re-testing.
